@ 6 - 7 PM
Join our Safford Friends of the Library for their monthly open book discussion. Bring a book you're reading or have recently read and share what you thought about it with the group! A great place for conversation and sharing of good book titles.
Friends’ Night Out is a monthly event for our adult population. Each session, held from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. or from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. (depending on the presenter’s preference) features speakers on various topics of interest. We run the full gamut of themes in order to appeal to the wide range of interests of our attendees. Each September, for example, we partner with the Daughters of the American Revolution to acknowledge Constitution Day. We have also offered presentations on Buffalo Soldiers, the Orphan Train, the Future of Health Care, and the Morenci Nine. Some sessions are hands-on; learning technology skills, making sugar skulls for Day of the Dead, and tackling cross-stitch embroidery. Many local organizations have offered presentations of their services: Gila Watershed Partnership and Eastern Arizona Science Initiative. And, we serve snacks! Watch our website and Facebook page for dates and times of our offerings. We’d love to have you join us!
We're always looking for volunteers! From the check out desk to shelving and special projects, volunteering at the library is the perfect way to gain work experience and help out our community.
