What We Do

The Human Resources Department partners with all departments to hire a diverse workforce dedicated to serving the residents of Safford. In addition to the recruitment process, the Human Resources Department is responsible for compliance with state and federal employment laws, benefits and compensation management, employee relations, and workers compensation.

Human Resources Team

Human Resources Officer 

Danielle Palma is a Human Resources professional with 16 years of experience in HR functions ranging from onboarding, benefits, compensation, training and development, employee relations and business strategy.

Danielle is from the local area, having grown up in the Gila Valley. She graduated from Safford High School and Eastern Arizona College. Danielle has a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources Management along with professional certification from the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM).

She is a strong believer in focusing on people and continual advancement by improving the HR experience one human at a time. Outside of work she enjoys her three daughters, Zumba, Pilates and lots of travel.

Human Resources Analyst

Khrisandra Potts grew up in Pima, Arizona as well as graduated from both Safford High School and Eastern Arizona College. She received her Bachelor of Science degree at Utah Valley University in Universal Studies with an emphasis on Human Resources. 

Her next step is obtaining her professional certification from the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM). She has worked in the HR field for a little over 2 years, but is excited to learn all she can in her time with the City of Safford. 

When Khrisandra is not at work, she is spending time with her husband and son, usually up on Mt. Graham or on a long drive.
